Pauline Hanson and Climate Change

Apparently Pauline Hanson has not yet called a Royal Commission into the ‘fraudulent’ claims of climate scientists.

I feel she should be strongly encouraged to do so.

A Royal Commission would reveal once and for all the fraudulent claims and counter claims of the climate sceptics and their backers.

A Royal Commission should be paid for by the public purse.  May I suggest it be paid for in the first instance by withholding subsidies paid to the fossil fuel industry with the assurance that if climate science is proved to be fraudulent they can be reimbursed.

The Royal Commission would use its wide investigative powers to research the science and the scientists, as well as the climate sceptics and their backers.

When the Royal Commission brings down its findings refuting the arguments of the climate sceptics, as it inevitably will, there should be two other provisions.

·         The fossil fuel industry be required to fund a small brochure to be delivered to every household in Australia detailing the basic science and providing details of how each household can benefit from renewable energy
·         Legislation be passed through the parliament which would enable class action to be brought against the climate denying industry by:
a.       Future generations for injury and loss unnecessarily imposed because of delayed responsible action.
b.      The insurance industry for expected financial loss
c.       The health services of Australia for expected impact on the tax payer for the increased health needs of the young and the elderly as a result of global warming
d.      The general Australian population for the impact upon Australia of environmental refugees and migration.
